The Chicago Transit Authority ( CTA ) has an extensive network of buses and elevated/subway trains throughout Chicago. Visit www.yourcta.com for maps, schedules, and fare information. On the CTA website, look for the "Trip Planner," a free online service that can help you find the quickest or most direct transit route to the Festival by bus or train. An additional web resource for bus services, PACE, including Park-N-Ride locations, can be found on www.pacebus.com.

From the suburbs, Metra's commuter rail system makes it easy with 228 stations in the six-county area of northeast Illinois and four downtown Chicago stations. Visit www.metrarail.com for more information.

For travel information on CTA, PACE and Metra, please contact RTA Travel Information line at 1-312-836-7000 or 1-312-836-4949 for Hearing Impaired. RTA Travel Information service is available 7 days a week, including holidays, 4:45 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

The Festival will have three options for parking your bike:

1) Look for the bike racks with secure spaces for parking bikes on Columbus Drive, just North of Balbo, across from the entrance to the Festival. Bring your own lock and use the bicycle racks provided (note: we are not responsible for damaged or stolen bikes).

2) Use the complimentary Chase Bank Bike Valet service provided by the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation. Bike Valet is like a coat check for bicycles. Your ride is placed in a secure, enclosed area, so you can leave it money-free and worry-free. The valet is located on the northwest corner of Lake Shore Drive and Monroe Streets.Visit the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation's website for more details. The Chicagoland Bicycle Federation is a non-profit, member-based advocacy organization that works to improve the biking, walking and transit environments in the region by encouraging activity, increasing safety and designing facilities for active transportation.

3) The City of Chicago also provides covered, free bike parking near the corner of Randolph Street and Columbus Drive at the Millennium Park Bicycle Station. Call 1.888.BIKEWAY or go to www.chicagobikestation.com.

Chicago Bike Map provides a map of neighborhood bike paths, bicycle safety tips and rules-of-the-road: Chicago Bike Map For additional information, call 1.888.BIKE.WAY (1.888.245.3929).

Consider taking the train or bus part of the way and biking the rest. All CTA buses and trains have racks that hold 2 bikes each. Go to CTA's website and use their quick and easy trip planner to figure out the quickest route. Note that there are restricted hours for taking your bike on a CTA train.

Throughout the year, the Metra train system is another option and offers space for your bike during non-rush hour and weekend Metra trains. The 495-mile Metra system serves 230 stations in Cook, DuPage, Lake , Will, McHenry and Kane counties. There is no additional charge to take a bicycle on board trains. For details, (rules, regulations & schedules) check out Metrašs Web site. Special Notice Regarding Bicycles and Metra: Due to larger crowds during Lollapalooza, bicycles will not be allowed on Metra trains August 1-3.
